Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the God of Jacob, Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters. – Psalm 114:7-8 NKJV
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately
- Let’s focus on the second part of this name. Do you remember the story of when Moses struck the rock and God made water flow from it? You can read about it in Exodus 17.
- Imagine being there when God turned a rock into a pool, a hard rock into fountains of water. Stop and think about what that would have been like.
- This name reminds us that the Lord can do anything, since He can turn a rock into a pool of water. He is all-powerful. He is the God who does miracles. What is it that you need Him to do for you today? Ask Him in faith, believing that nothing is impossible for Him (see Matthew 19:26).
- What areas of your life seem like a rock? Unchangeable. Dry. Hard.
- Ask the Lord to turn your rocky places into a refreshing, thirst-quenching pool of water (and whatever else you may need from that pool.)
A Prayer for You
God, I praise You because You are such a strong, all-powerful God. Thank You that nothing is impossible for You. You know the rocky places in my life [stop and talk to the Lord about each one.] I give them to You and ask that You would change them into pools of water. I don’t know how You’ll do it, but I trust You.
