Questions

Frequently asked questions

How can I have joy when life is hard?

Biblical joy isn’t the same as happiness; it comes from God and can grow even in suffering. You make room for joy by focusing on who God is, practicing gratitude, praying honestly, and choosing habits that sustain hope.

What is the difference between joy and happiness?

Happiness depends on what is happening around you. Joy is a deep, settled delight in God that doesn’t depend on circumstances. That is why Scripture can tell us to rejoice even in trials.

What does the Bible say about joy?

The Bible calls joy a fruit of the Spirit and a strength: “the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). Jesus said He spoke so that His joy would be in us and our joy would be full (John 15:11).
