God’s Love for Us

Excerpted from Reconcilable Differences online course, coming soon.Reconcilable Differences cover

We can have a relationship with God, because of His great love for us. That is amazing good news! Read a powerful New Testament passage about what God did for us and how much He loves us. Then answer the questions following it.

Romans 8:32–39 (ESV): “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

What can you learn about God’s love for you from this passage?

What does it mean to you that Father God would give His beloved Son’s life for you?

Consider this: since God gave His most precious possession for you, is there anything that He wouldn’t do for you?

What is Jesus doing for you right now? (verse 34)

What can separate you from God’s love? (verses 35, 38–39)

Do you really believe the truths in these verses? Why or why not? If you don’t, what is keeping you from believing them?

Ask God to reveal a new level of His love for you from these verses.

Excerpted from Reconcilable Differences Online Course, that will be available later this year. It will also be part of the book, God’s Design for Community, available later this year. Both are filled with powerful, biblical principles that will empower you to transform all your relationships and communities.
