Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being. – Hebrews 8:1-2
Some things you can do today with God’s name
This name has many parts. Today, meditate on each part of this name. Thank the Lord for what He shows you. Praise Him and worship Him for what an amazing God He is. Now let’s look at each part:
- High priest—how is Jesus your high priest? What is He doing or did He do for you?
- Who sat down—why did He sit? Why isn’t He standing?
- At the right hand—what is the significance of God’s right hand?
- Of the throne—close your eyes and imagine God’s throne. Look at Isaiah 6:1-3 and Revelation 4 for a description.
- Of the Majesty in heaven—Close your eyes again and ask God to give you a glimpse of His Majesty. I don’t think we can even begin to really grasp how awesome and amazing He is. Ask the Lord to show you what He wants you to see. I do know that whatever He shows you will be amazing! Look up Revelation 21:22-23.
