For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. – 1 Timothy 4:10 NAS
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately
- This name has two parts. Contemplate the Living God. What does it mean to you that your God is living?
- What do you think it means that Jesus is the Savior of all people, especially of believers? Is He also the Savior of those who don’t believe? How?
- I’m so glad our God is living. He’s not like other gods who never were alive or else they died. It reminds me of the pagan gods the people worshiped in the village where I grew up in Guatemala. They were impotent. This living God is my Savior and yours. He paid our price to set us free. Wow!
- Meditate on this name. Think about how the Living God became our Savior. What does that mean to you today? Talk to Him about what He shows you.
A Prayer for You
Living God, I’m so grateful that You are my Savior. Thank You for saving me from all my sins. Thank You for being the Living God, who will never die. Draw me closer to You as I meditate on Your names. I long to know You more.
