But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. – Psalm 3:3

This name in Hebrew is Ramam Roshe.

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately

  • Ramam means to lift, to hold up, exalt and high. Roshe means head, chief and top.
  • The New Living Translation refers to God as “the one who holds my head high.”
  • I love this name. So many times I’ve meditated on this when my head is hanging down and I’m struggling with sadness or grief (as well as other emotions.) When my best friend betrayed me in some devastating ways, I was hurt, sad, depressed and discouraged. The Lord reminded me of this verse. I had to choose to let Him lift my head. It wasn’t easy and didn’t happen immediately.
  • The Lord is the One who will lift your head today, if you let Him. How do you need the Lord to lift your head today? Ask Him. He loves answering prayers.
  • Have you memorized this short verse? If not, I want to encourage you to do so. It’s important to hide God’s Word in our hearts, so we have it when we need it.

A Prayer for You

I praise You and thank You, Lord, that You are the One Who Lifts My Head High today. It is so comforting to me to know that You understand how I feel and You see when my head is bowed down in sadness. Thank You for caring enough to lift me up.
