Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. – Isaiah 43:18-19
Some things you can do today with God’s name
- This name is extrapolated from what He does. In verse 19, God says He is making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Stop and meditate on what that means. Imagine you are trudging across the Sahara desert. You’re hot, parched and about to faint because there is no water in sight. Has your life ever felt like that? God says He’ll make streams in the desert—in your desert.
- Ask God to show you how He will make a way through whatever wilderness you have been in. Trust Him today to create streams in the wastelands of your life. Trust Him to do some impossible things in your life. Nothing is impossible for Him.
- Forget about the hard times in the past and watch God do the impossible.
Some time ago, I started praying the prayer of Jabez (see below) every day, for myself and for my family and others. I have seen some amazing miracles happen since I started praying. Every day I watch expectantly for God to answer that prayer. I want to encourage you to take at least a month and pray the prayer for yourself and your family. See if God doesn’t answer you in some amazing ways.
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. – 1 Chronicles 4:10
