My eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the sight of all people,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles
and for glory to your people Israel.
Luke 2:30-32
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:
- The Message translates this name as “A God-revealing light.”
- Jesus came to reveal God and His Kingdom to us. He is the light shining on us, to bring us into relationship with Himself.
- The word for revelation is apokalypsis, meaning manifestation, appearing and revelation. Revelation is God revealing Himself and His message to the world, or to us. He gives revelation through the Bible, Jesus’ nature and to us directly through the Holy Spirit.
- Thank the Lord that He didn’t just come for Jews, but He also came for Gentiles (that’s anyone who is not a Jew.) He could have just come for His people, but He chose to include us. Being a Gentile myself, I’m so thrilled Jesus came for us too.
- Ask the Lord to show you today what else it means that Jesus came as a light for revelation.
- How has God been a Light for Revelation for you?
- In what ways do you need Him to be your light and to bring you revelation?
A Prayer for You:
Jesus, thank You that You came to earth as a Light for Revelation. You came revealing the Father and what the Father wanted to say to us. Thank You for shining Your light into my life, to show me what Your plan is for me. Open my eyes and ears to see You and hear You more.
Blessings on you as you get to know God,

“I was amazed by this book, because it is so practical—it works, and it is the right way to do these things. Dick and I have believed and practiced these principles of partner relationships throughout our missionary career. We learned them from you, Ken! Thank you for laying them out so clearly in this book.”
