In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said:
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Acts 20:35
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:
- This is a compound name. The Greek word for Lord here is kurios, meaning master or sir, showing He is supreme in authority. Jesus is His human name, meaning the Lord saves.
- Meditate on this name. Praise the Lord Jesus.
- Think about what this verse says the Lord Jesus said. How can you apply what He said today?
- What areas of your life clearly show that He is the Lord Jesus?
- How well does your generosity reveal that Jesus is your Lord?
- Are there areas of your life where Jesus isn’t Lord?
A Prayer for You:
Lord Jesus, I praise You today for being my Master and the One who saves me. Thank You for all Your teachings. Help me to always honor You as my Lord and to remember that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
According to Jayde Duncan, Senior Pastor of Freedom Church in Colorado Springs, “We will never grow beyond our revelation of who God is. Everything in our lives flows from our understanding of the character and attributes of God. One of the best ways to grow in our relationship with God is to grow in our understanding of His names. This book is a great tool to become more intimately acquainted with the many facets of God’s character by praying into and thinking deeply upon the names of God.”
