Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:
- Spirit of the Lord is Ruah Yahweh in Hebrew. Remember ruah means spirit, breath or wind in the Hebrew. There are several names in this one verse. I encourage you to meditate on all of them. The Surprising Joy of Exploring God’s Heart has devotions on each of them.
- The Spirit has many facets and many names. I challenge you to begin a study of the Holy Spirit. You’ll be amazed at all you’ll learn and how it will change your life.
- In recent years I’ve begun studying about the Holy Spirit. I’m getting to know Him and letting Him work in my life. As a result, I’m seeing dramatic changes in my life and my family.
- Isaiah 11:2 is talking about the Spirit of the Lord resting on the Messiah, but He also rests on us. There are many verses that talk about us having the Spirit. Here are a few references you can look up: John 20:22; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13, 17; 2 Timothy 1:14; 1 John 3:24; 4:13.
- Ask the Lord to show you what He wants to reveal to you today about the Spirit of the Lord.
A Prayer for You:
Spirit of the Lord, I’m so thankful that You are in me and working through my life. Help me to learn to know You more and tap into all of who You are.
