Steps on Your Journey to Discover How God Sees You:
- Write out this verse and begin to memorize it. Meditate on this fact. Say it out loud as your declaration: “I have been lavished with the Father’s great love.” Do you believe that? Why or why not?
- What do the following verses say about God’s love for you? Meditate on each one, asking God to reveal His truth to you today.
- Psalm 36:7 (NIV): “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”
- Psalm 42:8 (NLT): “Each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.”
- John 3:16 (CJB): “For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed.”
- Romans 5:5, 8 (ESV): “Hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. … God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
- Romans 8:38 (NLT): “I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
- The Bible has so much to say about how much God loves you. I encourage you to read the entire New Testament to discover more of how God loves you.
- Have you experienced God’s love like this? If not, why not? If so, what has that felt like? Ask God to reveal more of His great love for you.
- I just got back from a trip to California with my mom. Some ministry partners lavished their love on us—paying for our flights, putting us up in their five-star hotel, taking us to dinner, and so on. But this is just a small taste of how much the Father loves us.
- Throughout this book, we will look at God’s love many times, from many angles. It has to be the foundation for understanding who we are and how God sees us.
- Pick one of the verses from this page to memorize, to remind yourself how much god loves you.
A Prayer for You:
Father, thank You for lavishing me with Your love. Help me to understand Your love in new and fresh ways. Show me anything that is holding me back from experiencing Your full love for me.
Blessings,
