Steps on Your Journey to Discover How God Sees You:

  • What do the following verses tell you about your relationship with God?
  • Psalm 24:5 (NLT): “They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.”
  • Luke 12:21 (NLT): “A person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”
  • James 2:23 (ESV): “The Scripture was fulfilled that says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness’—and he was called a friend of God.”
  • Think about what your relationship with God is like. Would you describe it as “wonderful”? Why or why not?
  • We can only have this wonderful relationship with God because of what our Lord Jesus Christ did for us. Consider how Jesus made you a friend of God. What did He do for you?
  • What does it mean to you to be called a friend of God? Think about that. You are a friend of the God who created the universe!
  • Do you rejoice in your relationship with God? If not, why not? What might you need to change?
  • When I was thirteen, I left Guatemala where I was enrolled in a boarding school. There we were required to have devotions daily, go to chapel and memorize up to twenty verses a week. When I moved to southern California to start high school, I saw all the things I had missed out on because my life was so sheltered. But very quickly I saw what the “world” offered and it wasn’t what I wanted out of life. I began studying my Bible about two hours a day and going to church every time I possibly could get a ride. I was excited about my new relationship with God. I had known Him all my life, but my relationship with Him became new and wonderful when I spent time with Him because I wanted to, not because I had to, as in boarding school.
  • Is there anything you may need to do to help your relationship with God become new and wonderful? If so, what will you do and when?

A Prayer for You:

Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for all You did for me to bring me into a wonderful new relationship with God. I choose to rejoice in that relationship. What a joy to be called a friend of God. Wow! Thank You.
