Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

• Think about this name of God today as you prepare to celebrate Easter. I want to encourage you to read through one or more of the Gospel stories in preparation for Easter.
• Cornerstone is Kefalay Goinia in Greek. Kefalay means head. Gonia means a corner or an angle.
• The cornerstone is the most important stone in the foundation of a house or wall, because it bears greater weight.
• Growing up in Guatemala, we often had hard earthquakes. I remember my family running outside, night or day, as soon as the ground started to shake. I often wondered if one might cause our house to fall. I’m so glad nothing can cause my life to fall when it is founded on Jesus as my Cornerstone. I can build my life on His solid foundation, without fear of it ever giving way. And so can you.
• This word is also translated as “capstone,” which refers to the top stone that finishes off a building or an arch.
• Meditate on how Jesus is the Cornerstone. How has He been a foundation for your life?
• Consider Jesus as the Capstone. How has He finished off or crowned your life?

A Prayer for You:

Jesus, thank You for being the foundation for my life. It’s comforting to know that my life is built on a solid foundation that will never be shaken. Teach me more of how You are a Cornerstone, not just of my life, but also of the whole church.
