Would you like a unique way to bless people in the military?Cover for 2031 Names of God

Do you know anyone in the military? 2031 Names of God makes a great gift for them. Look at what Brig General David B. Warner, USAF (Ret.), Executive Director, Officers’ Christian Fellowship, said about 2031 Names of God:

“We serve an amazing God!  Understanding and appreciating the character of the Lord is the beginning of knowing who we are in Him.  In Gaylyn William’s “2031 Names of God,” she explores and uncovers who God is by examining the 2031 names given to the Lord.  As a military retiree who spent 30 years serving my Nation and my Lord, how refreshing it will be to those who serve to discover in a more intimate way the Lord they serve through this journey Gaylyn will take you on.”

Jesus’ Name: Cornerstone

Then Jesus asked them, “Didn’t you ever read this in the Scriptures?

‘The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.

This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful to see.’

Matthew 21:42 (ESV)

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

  • Think about this name of God today as you prepare to celebrate Easter. I want to encourage you to read through one or more of the Gospel stories in preparation for Easter.
  • Cornerstone is Kefalay Goinia in Greek. Kefalay means head. Gonia means a corner or an angle.
  • The cornerstone is the most important stone in the foundation of a house or wall, because it bears greater weight.
  • Growing up in Guatemala, we often had hard earthquakes. I remember my family running outside, night or day, as soon as the ground started to shake. I often wondered if one might cause our house to fall. I’m so glad nothing can cause my life to fall when it is founded on Jesus as my Cornerstone. I can build my life on His solid foundation, without fear of it ever giving way. And so can you.
  • This word is also translated as “capstone,” which refers to the top stone that finishes off a building or an arch.
  • Meditate on how Jesus is the Cornerstone. How has He been a foundation for your life?
  • Consider Jesus as the Capstone. How has He finished off or crowned your life?

A Prayer for You:

Jesus, thank You for being the foundation for my life. It’s comforting to know that my life is built on a solid foundation that will never be shaken. Teach me more of how You are a Cornerstone, not just of my life, but also of the whole church.

Blessings on you,
