Here are some common symptoms of burnout. Not every person experiences every symptom. One difficulty in diagnosing burnout is because it is often the beginning stage of (or accompanied by) severe depression. A depressed person will normally demonstrate most or even all of these symptoms. Here are a few of the symptoms of burnout. You can find an extensive list in All Stressed Up and Everywhere to Go!
- Severe fatigue and irritability
- Loss of satisfaction in work or ministry
- Feelings of failure (whether accurate or not)
- Sleep disturbances (any kind)
- Difficulty handling people problems
- Difficulty making decisions
- Blaming others for problems
Besides a more extensive list of symptoms of burnout, you can also find a very helpful Burnout Inventory in All Stressed Up and Everywhere to Go!
