Are you weary?

Matthew 11:28—“Come  to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Are you weary and burdened?

Here is how the Message translates Matthew 11:28-30: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

It’s easy to get tired, worn out and burdened, especially when we are serving God. The Lord says to you today, “Come to me and I’ll give you rest.”

Sometimes we think that we have to keep working no matter how tired we are. Is Jesus calling you to stop what you’re doing and rest?

What does it mean to you to rest?

What do you think about taking time off to rest? Is that less spiritual than working hard?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I pray that God will minister to you as you serve Him and He’ll show you when you need to slow down and rest and just spend some time with Him.

Blessings,

Gaylyn
