Steps on Your Journey to Discover How God Sees You:
- Genesis 9:6 (MSG) says, “God made humans in his image reflecting God’s very nature.”
- Think about how you were created. What do you like about yourself? What do you dislike about yourself?
- What does 1 Corinthians 15:47, 49 (ESV) add? “The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. … Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.”
- Consider how you were created in God’s image. What must God be like, based on how He created us?
- 1 Timothy 4:4 (NLT) says, “Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks.” What is God saying to you through this verse?
- Since you were created in God’s image, then bashing yourself is also bashing Him. Think about that. Everything God made is good; therefore so are you.
- Why do you think in Genesis 1:27 God added, “male and female He created them?” He is talking about creating us in His image.
- When the Father looks at us, He sees the image of the Son He loves. Think about that powerful truth.
A Prayer for You:
Dear God, thank You for creating me in Your own image. Teach me more of what that means. I want to understand more of who You are as well as more of who I am. Forgive me for disliking things about myself, because I realize by doing that, I’m putting down what You created. Help me to see myself more as You see me.
