Do you Know Who You Are?

[God] shows for all time the tremendous generosity of the grace and kindness he has expressed towards us in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:7 JBP
Steps on Your Journey to Discover How God Sees You:
Notice how other versions of the Bible translate God’s tremendous generosity: “immeasurable riches of his grace” (ESV); “the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us” (NLT); and “the incomparable riches of his grace” (NIV). Meditate on each of these descriptions. What is God saying to you through them?
Look at the following verses. What do they add about God’s generosity?
- Ephesians 4:7 (NLT): “He has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ.”
- James 1:5 (NLT): “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
What does it mean to you that you are a recipient of God’s tremendous generosity?
God showed us His incredible generosity when Jesus died on the cross for us. He continues to reveal His generosity in many ways. One of the ways He has shown me His generosity is by providing me a cabin where I can go to spend time alone with Him, as well as write books. When I’m there I’m surrounded by peace, beauty, serenity, nature and more. The deer or llamas come by almost every day to eat the grass and get water at the pond in front of the cabin. In my wildest dreams, I couldn’t imagine anyplace I’d rather go.
Have you thanked God lately for all He has done for you? If not, why not? There is no time like the present.
A Prayer for You:
God I am so overwhelmed by Your incredible generosity and grace toward me. I don’t deserve any of it, but I’m so grateful for all You have done for me. Help me to better understand how much You did for me. Forgive me for all the times I forget to say thank You.
