Steps on Your Journey to Embrace God’s Faithfulness:
- What a great way to start this year, focusing on God’s love and His faithfulness! I pray as you go through this devotional study, you will be blessed as you learn to see God’s love and faithfulness in new ways.
- These verses have two promises in them. We’ll look at each separately:
- First, God’s steadfast love toward us is great. The New Living Translation says “He loves us with unfailing love.”
- The Hebrew for “steadfast love” means goodness and kindness. It is also translated loving kindness, unchanging love, devotion and mercy.
- The Hebrew word for “great” in this verse also means to be strong or mighty.
- Meditate on God’s unfailing love for you which is strong and mighty. How have you experienced God’s love? Do you feel God’s love or do you question it because of events in your past? If you question it, I encourage you to stay open throughout this study to allow God to reveal more of His love for you. We’ll look at many promises relating to His love.
- The second promise is: God’s faithfulness endures forever.
- “Faithfulness” in Hebrew also means truth, steadfastness, fidelity, stability and firmness. God is all of these. How does this encourage you today?
- Consider how long forever is. That’s how long God’s faithfulness will go on.
- What do the following Scriptures say to you about God’s faithfulness?
- Revelation 19:11 (NAS): “I saw heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True; and in righteousness He judges and wages war.”
- Hebrews 10:23 (NLT): “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
- Three times in these verses we are told to praise the Lord. As you go through this book, studying God’s promises, take the time to praise Him daily for what He has done for you and will do for you..
A Prayer for You:
Lord, I praise You today and thank You for showing me Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness, which endures forever. Help me to see and understand both in new ways. I want to learn to trust you more.
