Understanding God’s Unconditional Love

Psalm 136:17-20—Give thanks to him who struck down mighty kings.

His faithful love endures forever.
He killed powerful kings—
His faithful love endures forever.
Sihon king of the Amorites,
His faithful love endures forever.
and Og king of Bashan.
His faithful love endures forever.  (The New Living Translation)

Once again we see God’s faithful love in the middle of Him killing off people. Those don’t seem to go together, do they? However, God was protecting and taking care of His people, dealing with those who hated his people and wanted to destroy them. His love for them was unconditional. He didn’t just take care of them when they were acting right and loving Him. He cared for them, even when they sinned.

How have you seen God protect you and take care of you?

Thank God again today for His faithful love for you that endures forever. It will never, ever end.
