Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
Psalm 4:1 NIV

The book of Psalms is filled with King David’s prayers, many when he was stressed out. We can learn so much from them that will help us.

In this verse, David uses the name of God, My Righteous God. The definition of righteous according to www.thefreedictionary.com is “morally upright; without guilt or sin.”

As a righteous God, He expects us to be righteous and holy as he is holy. In what areas are you struggling to live a righteous life? God is forgiving and merciful if you come to Him and tell Him how you struggle and ask for forgiveness. But we need to be careful that we don’t sin, knowing that He will forgive us.

What does it mean to you that God is your Righteous God?

This verse is David’s prayer. What can you learn from it that can help you when you are feeling stressed and distressed? How can it help you manage your stress?

Spend some time talking to The Righteous One, your Righteous God.

Blessings on you as you continue to get to know God better,
