Col 3:12-14—Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
- Read these verses again. Who does verse 12 say you are? Meditate on God’s descriptions of you. Do you know deep down inside you that it’s true?
- We’re going to be looking at verse 12 several different times. There is so much in it. I want to encourage you to begin to memorize it. For some ideas on how to memorize Scripture you can go to www.DailyNameofGod.com. It has some suggestions that we use.
- The first thing this verse says about you is that you are chosen by God. Think about that. The God of the Universe chose you. You’re important to Him.
- Take some time to thank the Lord for who you are in Him. If you are struggling to accept what this verse says about you, ask the Lord to reveal the truth to you today.
- Talk to the Lord about how this verse affects you.
I pray blessings on you as you focus on who you are in Christ,
Gaylyn Williams
