You are holy

Col. 3:12—Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Let’s keep looking at Colossians 3:12. If you didn’t read the previous blog, you might want to go back and look at that.

This verse says that you are holy. It doesn’t say you are to try to be holy or that it is your goal to be holy. It simply says that you are holy. When you think about yourself, do you see yourself as holy? That’s what God says about you. It’s not because of what you’ve done or who you are, but because of what Jesus did and who Jesus is. Think about that today.

1 Peter 1:16 and other verses say “Be holy, because I am holy.” God sees us as holy, but we also need to choose to live holy lives. Is there anything in your life that you may need to change in order to live up to who God says you are?
