God’s Love for You
Throughout the Bible we see God’s love for His people. Let’s look at a few verses in the Old Testament. What do they say to you?
Exodus 34:6 (NET): “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness.”
Deuteronomy 7:9 (ESV): “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.”
Psalm 5:8 (NASB): “I can enter your house because of your great love. I can worship in your holy temple because of my reverence for you, LORD.”
Psalm 13:5 (NLT): “I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.”
Psalm 36:7 (HCSB) “God, Your faithful love is so valuable that people take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.”
Psalm 40:11 (NLT): “LORD, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me.”
Psalm 57:10 (ESV): “Your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.”
Psalm 89:2 (RSV): “Thy steadfast love was established for ever, thy faithfulness is firm as the heavens.”
Psalm 119:64 (NJB): “Your faithful love fills the earth, Yahweh.”
Psalm 145:8 (ESV): “The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.”
Dan Mohler is a pastor who is so much in love with God because He recognizes how much God loves him. He says, “You can’t hurt me, because I know who I am.” He understands that he is a cherished child of God. If people say or do anything mean or unkind, rather than feeling hurt, he feels sorry for them. He recognizes they act as they do because they don’t accept how much God loves them. Consequently, joy radiates from his life. I encourage you to watch some of his videos on YouTube. They are transformational.
