He Who Has Been Born King of the Jews

He Who Has Been Born King of the Jews

TikTo basileus ioudaios (Greek)

The Magi asked, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?

For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Matthew 2:2 (ESV)

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

  • Tikto means to be born. Basileus is a king or sovereign. Ioudaios means Jews.
  • Today is the day we celebrate Jesus’ birth. Take time to worship the newborn King.
  • The Magi, wise men, were following a star searching for the One Who Was Born Kng of the Jews. How do you think they knew what
  • the star meant?
  • People believe it took them a long time (maybe years) to find where the star pointed, but they didn’t give up. Are you searching for your
  • King as diligently as the Magi? If not, why not? Is there anything you need to change?
  • Spend some time today with family or friends remembering what Jesus did for you. He didn’t have to come to earth. He chose to come,
  • because He wanted a relationship with You.

A Prayer For You:

Jesus, thank You for choosing to come to earth to be born the King of the Jews. I worship You because You are my King. You deserve worship and praise. Forgive me for making Christmas all about gifts, meals and parties, when it’s all about You, Jesus. It’s all about You.

If you don’t have a devotional for next year, this one is very powerful. It gives you a different name of God for each day of the year.
