God’s Name: Spirit of Truth

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth,

for he will not speak on his own authority,

but whatever he hears he will speak,

and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

John 16:13 (ESV)

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

• Spirit in Greek is pneuma. Truth is alethia. Jesus asked the Father to give us the Spirit of Truth. Of all the names of the Spirit He could have used, He chose the Spirit of Truth. Why? If you’re not sure, talk to Him about that.
• One of Satan’s primary tactics against us is lies. He is a very good liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). He works to get us to believe lies about ourselves, God, others and our situation.
• In Matthew 18:18, Jesus says, “Whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (NAS). I use this verse everyday to bind the enemy and to loose the Holy Spirit. I always bind using the Name of the Lord Jesus. For example, “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I bind any lying, deceiving, conning and manipulating spirit that is anywhere around me or my family. And I loose the Spirit of Truth in and around my family so we will know the truth in every situation.” I encourage you to try this. It is very powerful

A Prayer for You:

Spirit of Truth, thank You that You are with me and in me, guiding me and revealing the Father’s heart and mind. I want to be more connected with You. Reveal the truth about myself, Yourself, the enemy, other people and my life. Help me to be so connected to You that I can instantly recognize lies from the enemy.
