Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 1:17

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

  • Monos means only or alone. Theos means God, deity or supreme divinity.
  • Our God is the Only True God. People may worship other things and people as gods, but they are not the true God. Most of us don’t have physical idols we worship, but many people treat money, power, status, people, etc. as more important than God. They make those things their gods.
  • When I grew up in a little village in Guatemala, the Mayans worshipped many gods. When Catholicism came in, they converted, but still continued to worship their own gods, right in the Catholic church. How often do we do that? We say we are following the Only God, yet we continue to worship money, power or other things.
  • Is there anything you worship (or make more important) in place of the Only God? If so, tell God you’re sorry and choose to change your ways.
  • Take some time to worship the Only God.

A Prayer for You:

Lord, I honor You and worship You as the Only God. Nothing else in the whole world (or universe) begins to compare with You. Teach me more of what it means that You are the Only God. You deserve all praise, honor, glory and worship.

Blessings on you as you get to know God more intimately,

Mary Kelly, Phd said about The Surprising Joy of Exploring God’s Heart:

“This beautiful book is educational as well as spiritual. Each day there is a lesson on one of God’s names, with questions for reflection and meditation. I highly recommend keeping this next to your bed for a unique and different way to initiate evening prayers.”
