Jesus’ Name: My Strength

O my Strength, I sing praise to You;
You, O God, are my fortress, my loving God.

Psalm 59:17

My strength

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

  • Psalm 18:1 says, “I love You, O Lord, my strength” (ESV).
  • The Hebrew word for my strength, oze, means help strength, strong, boldness and power.
  • Think about this. God is our strength. He doesn’t just give us strength when we need it. When we are living in Him, we are living in His strength.
  • You can stand strong no matter what happens because you don’t have just your own human strength, you have God’s absolute, complete strength in you.
  • God has been my strength so many times in my life. One time was when I had to make extremely tough decisions about one of my sons. I had to use tough love, even though I would rather not have. It was very difficult, but I could feel God holding me up, giving me strength.
  • Meditate on what it means that He is your strength. Thank Him for what He shows you.
  • In what areas do you need God to be your strength today? Ask Him, then press into Him and allow Him to be your strength.

A Prayer for You:

O My Strength, I praise You today because You not only give me strength, You are My Strength. Thank You for being My Strength. I love You, Lord. Teach me to press into You and allow You to be My Strength all the time.
