Jesus’ Name of the Day: Son of Man

Matthew 24:27—For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Some things you can do today with God’s name:

• The title “Son of Man” is used in the Old Testament (Psalm 80:17 and Daniel 7:13) as a title of the Messiah. It shows the true humanity of our Lord. Hebrews 2:14 and Luke 24:39 tell us He had a real body. Jesus was a perfect man.
• Jesus is the only one who refers to Himself by this name. It is messianic, but also shows His manhood.
• What does it mean to you today that Jesus is fully human as well as fully God?
