For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.

Psalm 36:9 (NLT)

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

  • Or is light. Rawa means see, look or behold.
  • Jesus referred to Himself as the Light three times in John 12:35-36.
  • In John 8:12, Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
  • Meditate on God being the Light.
  • How has He been your Light?
  • In what ways do you need Jesus to be your Light right now?
  • We live in a very dark world and need Jesus to be our Light. I go to a cabin in the mountains miles from any town. One night when I was there recently, it was pitch black outside. I couldn’t see anything. Then the next night, the almost full moon came up and I could see the lake, trees and mountain clearly. Jesus is like the light of the moon in my life.
  • Psalm 36:9 adds “by which we see.” This makes His Light more personal. He’s not just a light that is out there in the world, but also one that affects you and me. How does the Light affect your life?

A Prayer for You:

Lord, thank You that You are the Light by which I can see. You make everything clear because of Your Light. I’m so glad I don’t have to walk in darkness anymore. Lord, please be my Light, lighting each step of my way.

Blessings on you as you get to know God,
