I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation,

so that you may know him better.

Ephesians 1:17 (NIV)

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

  • This is part of Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians. I’d encourage you to read the whole prayer in Ephesians 1. It is a wonderful prayer to use for yourself, your family and friends. Build the habit of praying it regularly for those close to you: “Lord, give ____ the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that he or she may know You better.” I pray this for me and my family almost every day.
  • The purpose for this name, Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation, is to reveal more of who the Lord is, so you will know Him better.
  • The Greek for revelation means disclosure, appearing, manifestation, lighten and revealed. Think about these meanings. Revelation is when God reveals something to you personally. In this case the purpose is to know God better.
  • In what ways do you need wisdom or revelation? Ask God to give you His Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation.

A Prayer for You:

Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation, I invite You to come and reveal Yourself to me in new and fresh ways. Show me who You are and more about the Father and Jesus. The more I get to know You, the more I want to know You in deeper ways.

Blessings on you as you get to know God,
