God’s Name: Source of Strength

Isaiah 28:6—He will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

  • We are in a battle against the enemy (Eph. 6:10-18). God is our source of strength when we are in the middle of the battle. He is the first one we should turn to when we need help.
  • In what ways do you need the Lord to be your strength today? When you need strength, ask Him. He is faithful.

This morning as I was walking, I meditated on this name. I thought about how many foods today say they are a source of fiber or a source of iron, etc.  The Lord is our source of strength. He should be our first and primary source of strength, not just one of our sources that we go to after we have exhausted all of the others. In Him is all the strength we need for each day. When you need strength, remember you can call out to Him and find it.

Ephesians 6:10 says, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” I’ve been meditating on that almost every day lately before I put on the armor of God. It’s when we are in Him that we can be strong.
