Jesus’ Name: Rabbi

Matthew 26:25, 49—Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus answered, “Yes, it is you.” Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.

Some things you can do today with God’s name:

• Rabbi is a title of great respect and honor, often used with great teachers. It comes from the Hebrew word “rab” meaning, “master, captain, elder, mighty” and much more.
• Judas used this name as he was betraying Jesus. How could he use a term meaning master and still betray him?
