Good Friday

Let’s prepare our hearts, thinking about what Jesus went through for us. John 19:37: As another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced.”

This is a quotation from Zech 12:10, “…They will look on me, the one they have pierced…”

Some things you can do today with God’s name:

  • Jesus was pierced for us. Close your eyes right now and think about what that means. What did He go through? What does that mean to you, personally, today?
  • Think about what God the Father went through watching His Son go through all the pain and suffering. If you have children, imagine what it would be like to watch one of them go through what Jesus did. Remember, the Father didn’t have to allow men to hurt His Son. He chose to. Read Romans 8:32. Take some time today to thank both Jesus and Father God for all He went through for you. Think about the incredible stress Jesus was under. All Stressed Up and Everywhere to Go! talks about Jesus’ stresses and how He handled them.
  • Sunday is Easter, Resurrection day!  This weekend, I encourage you to read about Jesus’ resurrection from one or more (preferably all) of the passages, below:

Matthew 28

Mark 16

Luke 24

John 20
